I stopped it and went on the offical site downloaded it there and was in vanadiel in less then an hour.All steam does is install it to the steam folder instead of the default programfiles etc. The only damn interaction ive had in the past 2 months between FFXI and steam is that i have to launch the POL viewer through steam. after that, you can exit steam, thats how little it matters.
